Soy Wax Candle Containers and Molds
Candle Molds
There are many different types, shapes and sizes of candle molds
available to the candle maker these days. However with so many choices it can become unnecessarily hard to make
up ones mind. It is advisable to adhere to the KISS principle (Keep It Short and Simple). There is no need to go
out and purchase five different molds if you are just commencing on your journey into candle making. If your
desire is to make votive candles, then only purchase a few votive
cups, test the hobby first and then decide if it is worth your while to purchase more.
Containers
There is an endless variety of container available nowadays. It all depends on the type of look you want to
create in your candle making endeavors. For the country look, try using a mason jar. If you want a modern look
then by all means try something modern. Go to the local arts and craft store and check out their glassware; and
you are sure to find just the container to suit your needs and even new ones to inspire you to greater
creativity. A note of caution though: When purchasing glass to use for
jar candles, be sure to get a thick glass that can handle some heat!
You may also purchase containers online for your candles. Beware of the shipping costs, they can
get quite expensive. Another place to look is a local bee supply store. Generally they sell jars for packaging
honey that work well as a container candle. Glass honey jars make lovely candle containers; it further enhances
the ambience of the country feel.
Your first port of call should however be your kitchen. Quite often you will find that purchasing
containers might be superfluous unless you want to make something quite special and very different. Most of us
have a jar of some sort that we can turn into a candle!!
